Barrier arms start with a traffic plan.

Discuss vehicle routes, clearances and operating needs before specifying a barrier gate.

Control vehicle access deliberately

A barrier arm serves a different purpose from a continuous pedestrian or animal enclosure. Describe the intended vehicles, approach and waiting space, and identify who operates the opening. Do not assume an arm alone provides perimeter security.

Confirm the whole arrangement

Show the adjacent fence, pedestrian route and any existing foundations. Ask LS to review the proposed manual arrangement. Powered access, emergency procedures and safety controls require the appropriate specialist assessment.
